1. Who we are

Dablew (dablew.in) is an independently operated educational technology platform for Civil Services Examination preparation. References to “Dablew”, “we”, “us” or “our” in this policy refer to the operators of dablew.in.

2. Information we collect

Account information

Your display name, email address, authentication status, account identifiers and related security metadata. Password authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication; Dablew does not display your password to other users.

Study and submission information

• Questions you enter and PDF answer sheets you upload.
• Text extracted from submitted answers, handwriting-detection results, evaluation outputs, scores, feedback, annotations, evaluated PDFs and generated model answers.
• Daily Prelims and previous-year-question responses, marks, practice history and progress.
• Habit names, completion or missed status, Discipline Dashboard history and summaries.
• Recent Mains activity, evaluated-answer organisation and other progress summaries shown in your account.

Technical and communication information

Basic request logs, timestamps, device or browser information made available through normal web requests, error and security logs, and messages you send to our support address.

3. How we use information

• To create and secure accounts, verify email addresses and support password recovery.
• To store, process and evaluate submitted answers and present evaluated PDFs and related feedback.
• To provide daily Prelims questions, previous-year questions, practice history, progress views and the Discipline Dashboard.
• To organise evaluated answers by paper and subject so you can revisit them.
• To operate, troubleshoot, protect and improve the service.
• To respond to support, privacy, abuse and security requests.
• To comply with applicable law and protect users, Dablew and the public.

4. Automated and AI-assisted processing

When you request answer evaluation, your uploaded answer and related question may be processed using optical character recognition and AI services. These systems may classify handwriting, check whether an answer is relevant to the submitted question, assess structure and content, calculate an indicative score, create feedback, annotate a PDF, or generate a model answer when applicable.

AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate and should be treated as study guidance, not as an official UPSC assessment or a substitute for a qualified teacher’s judgment. Dablew does not use this evaluation to make legal, employment, credit or similarly significant decisions about you.

5. Service providers and data transfers

We use specialist providers to operate Dablew. Depending on the feature used, information may be processed by:

• Google Firebase for authentication, account records and application data.
• Amazon Web Services, including S3, Textract and SES, for document storage and processing, OCR and transactional email.
• OpenAI for AI-assisted relevance checks, evaluations and summaries.
• Vercel for website hosting and delivery.
• Render for backend application hosting.

These providers may process information in India or other countries under their own infrastructure and contractual terms. We share only information reasonably required to provide, secure and support the relevant feature.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate abuse or security incidents, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a genuine reorganisation or transfer of the service with appropriate safeguards.

6. Cookies and local storage

Dablew and its service providers may use browser storage, authentication tokens and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember necessary settings, maintain security and make features work. We do not use this policy to authorise unrelated third-party advertising trackers.

7. Retention

We retain account and study information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Different records may have different retention periods. Temporary processing files, backups or security records may remain for a limited period after deletion from active systems.

You may request deletion of your account or specific personal data by contacting us. We may retain information where legally required or where necessary to prevent fraud, abuse or security incidents.

8. Security

We use access controls, authenticated requests and managed infrastructure intended to protect information. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your password, do not share verification or reset links, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised account access.

9. Your choices and requests

You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information associated with your account, withdraw an optional consent where applicable, or raise a grievance. Send the request from your registered email address to support@dablew.in. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

10. Younger users

If you are under 18, use Dablew only with the involvement and permission of a parent or lawful guardian. If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and take suitable action.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Dablew’s features, providers or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised policy on this page and change the “last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or account email.
